A conceptual and functional analysis and application of legal principles and concepts relevant to the conduct and understanding of commercial business transactions in the domestic and global environments. The aim is to evaluate sources of law, legal process, procedures, and remedies and to analyze tort, criminal, and contractual rights, obligations, liabilities, and remedies in the business environment. Topics include the legal, ethical, and social environments of business; civil and criminal law; agency; types of business organizations; and contracts and sales agreements. |

(Formerly BMGT 496). An examination of the interplay between business ethics and social responsibility in both domestic and global contexts. The aim is to evaluate ethical and moral considerations of corporate conduct, social responsibilities, policies, and strategies. Emphasis is on the definition, application, and analysis of ethical values as they relate to significant public and organizational issues and business decision-making in various environments. Students may receive credit for only one of the following courses: BMGT 496 or BMGT 382. |
