(Not open to native speakers of Korean; assumes no prior knowledge of Korean. Students with prior experience with the Korean language should take a placement test to assess appropriate level.) For online sections, microphone, speakers, and occasional synchronous work required. An introduction to foundational Korean language and culture. The aim is to develop speaking, listening, reading, writing, and typing skills and; use high-frequency vocabulary and key expressions to interact in familiar settings. Topics include Hangeul (Korean alphabet), greetings, self-introductions, locations, and cultural norms. |

For online sections, microphone, speakers, and occasional synchronous work required. Prerequisite: KORN 111 or appropriate score on a placement test. A continued study of foundational Korean language and culture. The objective is to expand vocabulary and sentence structure to communicate about familiar topics such as daily routines, household chores, and shopping; describe personal experiences and plans using past, present, and future tenses; and engage in everyday interactions using appropriate cultural norms. Topics include asking and answering questions about schedules, likes/dislikes, and telling time. |

An investigation of contemporary topics in mathematics. The aim is to apply mathematical processes to solve problems involving exponential and logarithmic modeling, personal finance, probability, basic logical thinking, and statistical reasoning. |

(The second course in the two-course series WRTG 111-WRTG 112. Fulfills the general education requirement in communications.)¿ Advances critical and effective engagement within specific disciplinary, academic, or professional communication contexts. The aim is to navigate complex topics by applying and further developing multimodal communication skills (written, visual, verbal) through problem negotiation, strategic research, and genre awareness. Key practices include evaluating sources, leveraging AI for multiple writing contexts, constructing arguments, and adapting communication for specific disciplinary audiences and purposes. Students may receive credit for only one of the following courses: ENGL 101, ENGL 101X, WRTG 101, WRTG 101S, WRTG 101X, or WRTG 112X. |
